Wednesday Wants: Geeky Cross-Stitch Patterns!

Want to make something geeky for your home or for a friend?  Cross-stitch is a great easy craft that doesnt require any expensive equipment, just a few supplies you can get at any local craft store.   There are actually a great assortment of geeky patterns on the web that just require a simple web search.  Here are a couple of my favorite geeky patterns that are available for purchase on the web.

Star Wars Alphabet Pattern, $8, Etsy shop pixelpowerdesign
This Star Wars alphabet would make a great addition to any geeky nursery. Etsy seller pixelpowerdesign has an amazing selection of patterns, from Star Wars, to superheros, to World of Warcraft, there is something for every geek.  There are also deals on sale patterns (3 for $10 or 5 for $15) so you can get yourself a nice little stash of patterns!!

Superhero alphabet pattern, $16 from Kitschy Digitals
If superheros is more your thing, this alphabet covers a nice range of superheros from both the DC and Marvel universe.

Harry Potter Crest Pattern, $4, from Etsy shop blip103patterns
This pattern is not for the faint of heart.  If you really love Harry Potter, and have lots of time on your hands, the end product is something to be proud of.  This seller has A TON of other patterns as well.

'Forbidden Love' Pattern, $8.50, at Etsy shop mrXstitch
There is plenty of time to finish this before Valentines Day!

Princess Bride inspired Pattern at Etsy shop bombastitch

A geeky take on a traditional cross stitch pattern.

These are just a few of options out there.  Thanks to Etsy its easier than ever to buy geeky cross stitch patterns online.  Have your own idea for a pattern?  There are even iphone apps that will covert text or photos into patterns.  I have not used any of these personally, so I cant recommend any, but they do exist!

Happy cross-stitching!
